Abstract

The analysis of the work literary Cidade de Deus of Paulo Lins and the homonymous film of Fernando Meirelles consist of a research of bibliographical nature. The work had focus in the field of the sociology of the romance and of teories of movies when accomplishing the analysis of the romance and film. The generally objective of dissertation is the analyses of book in three levels: narration, personage and language; and in the film including: protagonist and objetive, obstacles, premise and overture, principal tension, terminus and resolution, theme, unity, characterization, development of history, dramatie irony, possibility, action and activity, dialogue, visual elements, dramatics scenes. Throught his narration centered in the focus of the multiple selective omniscience. Paulo Lins takes for itself of the characters language for narration being used of the free indirect speech. The film differs of the book in the narration to the if centers in a character protagonist narrator. The accusation of the violence in the slum is rendered with the characters in the text of the film as in the literary text. In both the crime wins and the thieves continue establishing the order
