dc.description.resumoEste trabalho apresenta uma análise do processo de expansão da educação profissional e tecnológica até a criação dos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia. O estudo abrange os 38 institutos criados a partir da Lei n.° 11.892, de 29 de dezembro de 2008, e tem sua base documental proveniente de diversas fontes de informação, entre as quais livros, sites e documentos. Os dados coletados demonstram a dimensão da educação profissional na rede federal, sendo que a sua história, segundo o Ministério da Educação, inicia-se com a criação das Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices, em 1909. A estrutura do trabalho é composta por três capítulos e um anexo que apresenta uma planilha de informações sobre os institutos. No primeiro capítulo, é apresentado um breve histórico da educação profissional no Brasil. O tema expansão, que trata do plano do governo federal para expandir a educação profissional e a composição dos institutos a partir da análise da legislação, está detalhado no segundo capítulo. Por fim, o terceiro capítulo descreve os 38 institutos criados, levando-se em consideração as características específicas de cada campuspor
dc.description.abstractThis work presents an analysis of the expansion process of the technological and professional education until the creation of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology. The work is about a research in the 38 Institutes created by means of the Law nr. 11.892 of December 29th, 2008, being the collected data evidences of the dimension of the professional education in a federal level, which has in its history, according to the Education Ministry, started with the creation of the Artifices Apprentices Schools in 1909. To develop this work, it was necessary to investigate from several information sources including books, web sites and documents. The work s structure is composed by three chapters and an attachment which contains an information spreadsheet regarding the Institutes information. In the first chapter, an historical of the professional education in Brazil is presented. The subject expansion, which discusses the intents of the federal government in expanding the professional education and the Institutes composition through the law analysis, is detailed in the chapter two. Finally, the third chapter describes the 38 created Institutes, considering the specific characteristics of each campuseng
