A subjetividade no silêncio do eu

Abstract

This paper focuses on analyzing the construction of subjectivity in the silence of the "I" based on the reading of texts related to the linguistics of enunciation by Émile Benveniste, anchoring the theory of the witness in Giorgio Agamben and the theory of the logical relationship of linguistic reality with its manifestation in the physical world by Ludwig Wittgenstein. To this end, in a first approach, a reflection will be made on Benvenistian theories related to the notion of language, society and, finally, subject and subjectivity. To this end, two chapters of the work Problems of General Linguistics I (PLG I) will be observed, namely: chapter 20: The nature of pronouns (1956) and chapter 21: On subjectivity in language (1958); and chapter 6, present in Problems of General Linguistics II (PLG II), Structure of language and structure of society (1968), by Émile Benveniste. In the second approach, the work What Remains of Auschwitz (2008) will be observed, focusing on two basic chapters: chapter 1: The Witness; and chapter 2: The Muslim. The third approach has as its initial focus the work Philosophical Investigations (2014), by Ludwig Wittgenstein. However, in this third unit, the intention is to establish a theoretical approximation between the three authors in question, so that we can seek clarity under the idea of ​​the subjectivity of the silence of the "I", considering silence as an extension of language, constitutive of meanings, even if located within the limits of language. The general objective, therefore, consists of investigating and analyzing how the essence of the linguistic act, proper to the human condition, can be reduced to the subhuman condition of servile and unclaimed acceptance, and how the instance of silence becomes necessary for this new semantic condition of man in the absence of the linguistic act of speech.
